Team Leader, Provincial Road Maintenance Program

Remuneration will be in compliance with the DFAT (former AusAID) Adviser Remuneration Framework – Level C4

Long term position (15-18 months)

We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified consultants for the position of Team Leader for an implementation support team, to a Provincial Road Maintenance Program. Support will be by advocacy, empowerment and building capacity to improve the provincial government, supervision consultants and contractors to plan, deliver, manage and monitor road maintenance tasks thereby providing improved governance of the provincial project roads asset. The position will require working closely with relevant stakeholders, including the public works and other provincial government departments.

You will lead a team which comprises both international and national consultants.

You will have previous experience working in developing countries and the ability to communicate with and influence national professionals and managers.

Additional key competencies include:
  • Providing technical input and support in the development of infrastructure technical standards and norms, technical specifications and quality assurance mechanisms.
  • Assisting to define and develop specific technical skills and build requisite competencies within the Provincial Government counterparts and the District engineers
  • Being a self-starter, as well as a team player
  • Committed to sound practices in occupational health and safety
  • Understanding of cross-cutting issues including, child protection, gender equality, fraud and environment
  • Bahasa Indonesia skills are highly desirable

Tertiary qualifications in engineering with specific skills in rural road development are preferred.
