Communications and Outreach Manager
- Oversee and coordinate communications and outreach activities for the programme in Indonesia, in order to raise awareness of the programme across a wide range of stakeholders and audiences, and promote the participation and engagement in the programme to a range of stake-holders, including small-holders, private sector actors, international and local civil society organisations and multi-level governmental bodies
- Develop the communication and dissemination plan and, in association with the partners, manage and implement the communications and outreach strategy in Indonesia, with a special focus on the improvement of the ISPO standard
- Organise and participate in events to highlight the programme and market opportunities

Programme Overview
The main objective of the programme is the establishment of a Programme Management Unit that will provide targeted technical assistance to the Government of Indonesia (GoI) at the national, sub-national and district levels to support its efforts to cut carbon emissions through reducing deforestation rates and improving land-use management, whilst also supporting its attainment of economic growth objectives through a low-carbon pathway.
Purpose of Role
The Communication and Outreach Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the program’s communication and outreach strategy. The position will report to the Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader and will liaise with project staff and partners based in Indonesia. This position will be based in Jakarta, in GRM’s office and require regular travel in the target provinces.

Minimum education and experience required
- Post-graduate qualifications preferable in communications or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in similar work, including experience managing a communications team and developing and implementing communication strategy - Experience with DFID-funded or other large international development programmes would be an advantage
- Previous experience in communications and outreach in the sustainable forestry, agricultural commodity trade, natural resource management – Experience working with ISPO/RSPO would be a definite advantage
- Demonstrated ability to unpack and communicate complex concepts simply with a range of stakeholders in multi-cultural settings
- Proven track record working with governmental bodies in Indonesia, especially those responsible for climate change and sustainable forestry issues
- Demonstrated experience in program and event management
- Relevant experience in sustainable forestry or palm oil sector would be an advantage
- Ability to facilitate e-communication and web-based technologies for professional purposes
- Graphic design skills and familiarity with document management, content management and web based design would be an advantage
- Highly effective communication and high level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia
